IT Implementation and Change Management
I have project management experience in software implementation and change management. I create project plans, timelines, and budgets. I monitor progress against these plans to ensure successful and timely completion. I work with a diverse group of stakeholders in multiple lines of business to ensure that unique needs are satisfied and expectations are met. To ensure the system can be utilized efficiently by all users, I create detailed manuals tailored to each user group and conduct training sessions. I make system configuration changes and manage external consultants to ensure that system enhancement requests are successfully designed and implemented. I design and implement system maintenance plans and conduct post-implementation satisfaction surveys and follow-up interviews.
Process Design & Improvement
Every organization has an area that they struggle with. It could be late invoice payments, late billings, inaccurate financial reporting, or tax noncompliance. For over a decade, I have worked with clients to review their processes and recommend efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance improvements. As a part of each consulting engagement, I review the processes, define the main issues and their causes, and provide detailed recommendations to address these causes, custom designed for each client. I focus on streamlining, simplifying, and automating processes in order to save valuable company resources. I help management to draft policies and procedures to implement necessary changes and work with staff to train them on new processes.
General Accounting
I perform work in all areas of general accounting from oversight of complex treasury functions, such as exist in larger Native Corporations, to revenue recognition in oil and gas development companies. I design, automate, and perform balance sheet, bank and project reconciliations. I prepare monthly and annual financial statements. I work with legal and tax teams to provide financial information and ensure tax and legal compliance. I provide recommendations to management to facilitate operating and cash management decisions. I streamline, automate and standardize journal entries and develop written procedures.
